Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools offers an Early Intervention program through partnership with Central Alberta Child and Family Services and Alberta Education. At the Early Education & Family Wellness Centre support is provided to children with severe developmental needs and their families. Children benefit from a high quality, play-based, pre-school learning environment. Focus within the program is placed on providing specialized services to children with severe special needs, aged 2-1/2 to 5 years; however, typically developing children attend our centre, often acting as role models to provide positive peer support.
Centrally located in the City of Wetaskiwin, the centre provides services to all children who are eligible for Program Unit Funding (PUF) who reside within the City or County of Wetaskiwin. The Centre offers daily classes in either the morning or afternoon as well as provides additional outreach programming to children unable to attend the Centre. If your child is of kindergarten age, PUF support is provided within one of our kindergarten programs.
